os update?

should i update the os first before starting anything on my 2500 wen i get it?

i second this question actually , ( even tho iv already started stuff lol ) i was a bit unsure of the whole os process , tho i seem 2 get it now , tho im reading problems with the upgrades that the earlier versions didnt hav ,which is a bit gay 2 be honest , and i guess all memory gets lost when u upgrade? couldnt you just put the stuff on ur computer via usb and then bring it back ? realise thi sstuff may hav ben covered lots of times , and iv tried search , dont think it likes me lol .

It's generally a good idea to use the latest OS. There will always be more problems fixed than new ones added. And I personally haven't had most of the problems described here myself, though I don't use my MPC very much at the moment. So maybe most of the problems won't bother you either.

And of course you can always use your saved data if you updated your OS. To be on the safe side, copy it over before updating, and reformat the Harddisk afterwards, then copy your data over again. Again, I updated without reformatting and haven't had a problem. But in any case backup your stuff before you update!
