Anybody?

Here's my setup: I am trying to use the MPC 2500 as the master with my Fantom X6 as the slave via MIDI....I'm using Pro Tools LE 6.4 with the MBOX for recording, so I have the Fantom and MPC both going in mono into the MBOX. I have a 2 channel mixer with phantom power but all I have hooked up to it is the MBOX. I've spent all of my free time trying to control the Fantom with the MPC but it's not working. I'm also getting other sounds coming out of nowhere on the MPC when I record a drum pattern. I'm getting frustrated with the manuals because they really aren't that clear. With my old 2000 I was able to change sounds on my old keyboard just by turning the knob on the MP easily. My question is simply, how would you guys set this stuff up to where it would work to it's fullest potential?
