MPC 2500 Upgrades....Hd's and Ram....

Im new to the production game and just grabbed up a 2500 few days ago i havent messed with it yet. I wanted to wait for the ram and hd to come in....i got the hd today and expect ram in a day or 2....aswell as some black pads...my question is....how can i install all these things without f'in it up...does any one happen to have a link or something with instructions or steps to guide you through it....any help would be appreciated i dont want to screw anything up you know....

and trust me...i tried to look around for like the last hour and couldnt find any exact info...and then i end up getting side tracked by another thread and blow 20 minutes reading...

so plleeeeease some one help....

You're likely to get a RTFM reply (Read The Freaking Manual)

It doesnt look too good to say publicly "I searched half an hour for something that has it's own section in my instruction manual" hehehe

So, page 122 of your instruction manual will give you directions for HD installation.

If you do not have the manual, get it from the manufacturer

As for the ram, you got a point, it's not easy to find the info...

If you are buying AKAI's RAM, you'll get instructions with it I assume

otherwise: be carefull, remove the screws that hold the case together and find a way where to fit RAM =P I you've never did a RAM upgrade on a laptop, find a friend who did that can help you

well thing was i actually skimmed the index of the manual and didnt really see any categories that i figured it would be in....so i turned here to search, came up empty handed...and a few days ago i got some good tips on here about what ram,hd and so forth to get...well now its here and next step is operation install...lol....

i have installed ram on a pc but i mean pretty much just open case and insert ram...i figured the mpc may be a bit more complex'd...

and i dont know exactly what im looking for to take out and so forth...so i figured maybe there was a link or a guide....

and theres really no dj shops around here, i wonder if guitar would be willing to do it, i mean for a few bucks i would feel safer just knowing it's there ass is something screws up....but they may also be a reason they wont do it..unless it was purchased there im sure....thanks though...

maybe someone else may know of a place or maybe its easier then im thinking...

secondly it does not have all the info im looking for.....so you can throw the whole RTFM out the window...

and nappy boy...i just purchased a 100gb & i picked it up for $115 shipped priority included...not bad for how handy i think it will be down the road...ram cost me 35 bucks shipped...(kingston)...also picked up a kingston cf card for 25 shipped....oh and didnt get them yet but they are already ordered, a vinyl black dust cover that i found a link to off this site and blacks pads to replace the factory grey ones...both are about 25-30 bucks each shipped...hope that helped in some way....

wow...maybe you guys are a little to serious....lighten up...seriously...

there is no real "problem" i have been an mc for quite some time and feel i have reached my prime in that field so i am trying to establish myself as a producer aswell or atleast give it my best...

it also has nothing to do with being a man, its about not wanting to take a chance on ruining something i just paid a pretty penny for....if i need my car fixed i take it to a mechanic, i dont "be a man" and rip my engine out and tinker with it and hope it just fix's itself.....or i seak tips from people that have mastered the craft and could help me with ease...

of course i plan on reading the manual and im sure over and over....i just figured this was a forum of people that wanted to help other people grow...or could atleast stear them in some type of direction other then just keep feeding me a buntcha bs.....if you dont want to help thats fine..but please dont be little me because of the fact im new and just have very little knowledge about it....just remember you were there once yourself....

im looking for maybe 3 minutes of someones time, a head start that is all....it didnt seem like to much to ask when i made the thread....guess i was wrong....

I am shocked, i call guitar center and sure enouh they said they could only do it if purchased from them....

so i ended up getting pissed and said screw it im rippin this bad boy open i cant take it any more....

i can NOT believe how easy it actually was lol....i was thinking it was going to be like open heart surgery....hahah....took me about 15 minutes to install the ram and the HD....

it noticed the 128 mb of ram right during start up so i know im good there now i just need to find out how to check if the HD is installed ok which i think odds are on my side cause it was cheesecake to install...but im sure the manual has a way to check the HD....and if its installed ok...

so thanks for the tuff love fellaz....it ended up pushing me to do it and i feel better about the fact i did it myself, mwahhaha group hug???
