Now Timestretch!!1

Does timestretch always make the sample sound like garbage I mean I have heard guys use this feature and the sample comes out sounding smooth like butter.............mine on the other hand comes out sounding really choppy and it kind of has a studder to it. I am trying to go from a tempo of 168.5 to 90 and it sounds really, really bad, not smooth at all.

What can I do about this??

Well duh man u can't do a drastic change like that and expect it to sound smooth. Lol! since your original tempo is at 168.5 you can't go below 145-148 or it will sound wack. Try patched phrase.

Right, but Patched Phrase probably won't sound better with that ratio.

Ok....Lol..too dramatic of a change. I'll have to try something with a smaller change ratio........like you guys suggested.

Any stretch/compress wilder than that will sound unnatural.

There is a link for a timestretch website in my USEFUL LINK thread, I don't remember the page it's on but you'll have to look through the pages, it's helped me ALOT when I used to timestrech junk alot...

so yeah, who has noticed that all the algorythms sound identical? i only use timestretching as an effect on the mpc, its nice sometimes, but not really useful. its like the timestretching on the oldschool akai samplers where it sounded all metallic except this is more organic. really only good if your going to emphasize the effect. oh yeah it turns all the samples to mono too.

Yea...I already thought the developers should grab the source code of Audacity and get their algorithms from there...cause it does a much better job. But what do I know...
