Crap gotta problem

after i chop a drum loop and have each slice to a pad, i'll record the high hats first and then the snares...only when i record the snares all i hear when i hit the pad is a split second of the snare sample....it does it if i try to add a bass kick too...then when i play it back, the snares come in full but when the snare or kick plays, the high hats don't....i've updated the OS so needing an update is not the problem.....i'm brand new to the mpc and i pretty much have no clue wut i'm doing so i'm hoping that i'm just doing something wrong and that there is nothing wrong with my mpc...also i don't get this problem when i use the drums that come already in the mpc....so far i've gotten this problem when i tried a loop that i loaded in, and one that was on the flash card

im not sure if this is an OS thing or what, but this foxed me a few times (im still new to this) but once i understood the poly mono pad thing it was a doddle to fix.

My guess is that you used "Chopshop," and "Create new program," correct? When you have the MPC automatically create a program for you, by default, it changes the "Play:" setting to MONO. Stilo got it right; from the main screen press MODE, then PAD 7. In the upper-right hand corner change the PLAY field to POLY and you should be set.

ok thanks a lot for the feedback....so by the sounds of it this is normal and there isn't anything wrong with my mpc right?

completely normal. reading the manual should explain A LOT (technically it should explain everything, but we all know how manual's are sometimes).
