hd problem

I just installed a hard drive in my mp, and it seems to freeze when I try to mount it in the usb page. Also, when I try to save something, it gives me a error message.
What seems to be the problem?

what harddrive?

did you buy the HD from a reputable dealer?

did you install it? try re-seating the disk - (out and then back in)

its the Samsung MP0804H 80GB.
what do you mean install it?

also when i try to format and press DO IT, it gives me "insert memory card!"

You've formatted the hard drive right?

If not, turn on MPC, go to LOAD, select the Hard Drive and hit the Utilities button (F3). It will then display FORMAT in the top left corner of the screen. Double check it the Hard Drive (should say in middle of screen) and hit DO IT.

fixed it! I pushed the hd a little and now I can format.

If it's 5400rpm/8mb cache it's the same Samsung I've got, aside from being twice the size.
