Patched Phrase, Please help

My patch phrase sample isn't changing with the sequence tempo. I upload the original sounds thaat come with the 2500, and there patch phrases work just fine, they move with tempo and everything. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

You do know the manual has detailed info on how to use this function? Sorry, I am bored and couldn't resist

In the manual for those who want to seem like they know it all, the patch phrase instructions are not in complete detail, just like all akai products, beacuse if things were detailed an addressed properly there wouldn't be an mpc-forum, I haven't really heard of any other forums, have you?.

The manuals says you can do either or between chop or patch phrase, It doesn't say chop first then patch phrase the sample you just chopped. Do you see how clear and straight forward that sounds. Maybe you understand things like "repeat steps 1 thru 4 and patch phrase", which to people who do nothing else but music, read music, and sleep all day because they have the luxury to do so, and then just go to your own private studio, make a beat, sell it, and then go back to sleep because all the bills are paid for, for the next six months, yeah we need things broken down in great detail, thank you very much.

This is a new function that wasn't on any other MPC before this. I figured it out using a Japanese manual (I can't read Japanese ).

I was just joking regardless. But there are forums for other pieces of gear..quite a few besides this one. There is an MPC Forum because there are so many people that use or want them. Plus its a good way to advertise and sell you products relating to the MPC.

As jahrome said...the manual is quite clear about how it works. You just have to read the chapter from the beginning.

Here's an analogy, first once you know one mpc you can basically get around the rest, besides the 4000, sort of

here's the analogy, you buy the most reliable car, everyone that lives the way you do has one, you've had your license for about 15 yrs, now you're buying the car, everything looks the same, pretty simple, standard/automatic whatever, but you choose to still read the manual before you drive it off the dealers lot, even though you've inquired about the car, sat in it, touch it, and even test drove it

now change car to mpc, and tell me who do you know read the manual completely through once they brought there second or third MPC

If everyone read the manual there wouldn't be a forum, all you guys would talk about is software upgrades, because of certain bugs that are in a bad OS system, now if you're here to give adivice give it

to go deeper
check it, all a teacher would have to do is teach everybody how to pronounce words, and what a few words mean, just give every six year-old a manual and lets see who finds there way to college

thats why we talk and thats why we discuss and thats why there's a forum, its like jammin with your crew on some beats and drum machines except there are no beats are drum machines, you talk you pick at the brain until it goes "wow I have an idea"

Yea, that's actually a good analogy. Of course I don't read the whole manual before I drive, cause I know how to drive a car. But if I'm not familiar with, say, a cruise control, I look for the chapter about cruise control in the manual and read it up. Instead of bugging all people in the neighborhood who have a car to explain it to me

That's my view on it.

No, we wouldn't, we would just have more time to spend with serious issues, that can not be solved within 5 minutes by reading the manual.

Nothing against asking questions of course...and even beginner questions. But there are a lot of questions posted here, which could be easily solved if people would just do what they had to do before the Internet. And quicker even than waiting for answers here sometimes

I almost forgot what life was without having access to the internet. I picked my first MPC up in 1997. I remember having to go to go a friends house to help me download and unzip the OS Memories....

yeah i remember those days well. the mpc2000 manual was our bible. me and my boy had no other help back then. everyone we knew that made beats were using different hardware. all we could learn from them was production tips. looking back, i'm glad it was like that, since i got no problem searching the web for what's not covered in manuals.

btw, my screen went blank on my MPC. did i fuk it up? should i call akai? please help me! whaaaat???? 3246536 views and no response???? WTF!!! you call this a messageboard???

yeah im not too clear on the patched phrase feature either, and i have read the manual a bunch of time, and i guess im just not getting it. i refer to the manual first before i come here, but like with everything, someone with experience telling you exactly what to do and teach you what u did wrong is better than a manual that doesnt SHOW u or point ur wrongs out. each one teach one.
