OK sorry to labour the point about MTC but ive got some stupid questions

Ive got a situation where I need the 2500 to be the master, syncing Cubase sx 3. Midi goin via a Motu usb midi unit.

Cubase doesnt recieve midi clock (bastards)

So.. i need to send MTC

Im currently running os 1.1 - Ive noticed the new os supports MTC

Shall i install it? or is it not going to work (heard the MTC's a bit ropey)

any views most appreciated !

cheers

Load up OS 1.22 in your MPC and set it as the master. Check the results and report back what you find.

Really? Because Nuendo 3 doesn't. It can send MIDI Clock only. Cubase should be nearly indentical to Nuendo.

as far as i know cubase (except eventually cubase 4) can oly send midi clock, but cannot slave to it.
anyways back to the dreaded mtc: in the manual addedum for os 1.22 it states clearly (in the grey box) that it is reccomended to use a blank bar at the beginning to ensure propper sync. for some devices an even longer sync time is needed, from 10 to 30 sec, depending on the device. maybe this makes it a little better...
