Im gonna get the MPC 2500 very propably next week. Its been ordered from Germany, and I live in Finland, so it takes like 6-10 days. But heres a few questions before I get my fingers on the pads.

These questions might sound dumb, but please help the little boy.

1.) Does the 25 hundred support mp3 editing? I am not gonna use any vinyls, just mp3:s, I have FL studio, which I can use for very raw cutting for samples, but do I need to convert the files to wav.?

2.) How do I make the sliced samples accurate with the MP? Ive heard that MPC 2500 is pretty super accurate machine, and thats for me atleast, very big thing you know. Im gonna make like 2-3 sequences in each beat from 2-3 different spots from the record im using, so if i slice the raw samples with FL studio, will it be easy to make all the 3 sliced sample parts (which I have tooken from different places from the record, no next to each other pieces) sound accurate and you know. Smooth?

3.) Do I need any sofware on my PC to run with the MP? Ive heard that its great machine in stand alone, ofcourse I transfer the samples from the computer to the machine, but do any of you recommend any software to use with?

4.) What about the OS? Some say the JJ stuff is hotter than Akai´s own. Im not very into these Operating Systems yet, so you could recommend.

5.) Any last recommendations? Anything, help me, Im new with this. And im young. I cant wait till I get mine.

The mpc2500 doesnt read mp3 files you can do one of two things.
1.) Convert it to an .wav file
2.) Sample the mp3 file into your machine. Basically you would take the PC Output to the RECORD IN on your mpc and record the mp3 thats playing.

3.) Do I need any sofware on my PC to run with the MP? Ive heard that its great machine in stand alone, ofcourse I transfer the samples from the computer to the machine, but do any of you recommend any software to use with?

Yes if you plan on tracking out(recording each sound individually) your beats or want your complete song(one big file) on the PC to have it put on an cd or the internet. But keep in mind if you have the 128mb expansion installed you could actually Resample and turn your complete song into an .wav file(one big audio file-complete song)

4.) What about the OS? Some say the JJ stuff is hotter than Akai´s own. Im not very into these Operating Systems yet, so you could recommend.

You decide. Read up on what both have to offer and go for the one that will suit your needs.

5.) Any last recommendations? Anything, help me, Im new with this. And im young. I cant wait till I get mine.

-Just cause you own an mpc doesnt mean your beats will be like your favorite producer.
-The mpc requires time/patiences/effort
-Go to www.tweakheadz.com and READ(save that link 4 future use)
-Go to www.akaipro.com and download the Manual so you can get ahead start b4 your mpcs comes.
