the same thing happensto me in 1.22 too

I had this problem in 1.21, It is a pain in the ass but the way I get past it is to just set a marker for myself where I want my mutes and then play them myself when I track. Antonym gave a real useful suggestion in the other forum to use the qlinks to get a more human feel, I feel that works well too. but I know what your going through, if someone has an answer help us out!

I'm new to the mpc2500 but last night I was experimenting with recording track mutings.

What I discovered was that recording track mutings work fine but what you are actually muting is the events rather than sound (which makes sense imho).

What this means is say you have a 1 bar sequence and one track in that sequence has a sound triggered right at the beginning of the bar, that sound is 1 bar long and set to one shot. Now if you play that sequence back looping, if you mute that track just after the sample has started playing it will continue to play until it finishes but then won't be triggered again until the track is unmuted.

Likewise, if you unmute the muted track just after the sample would've been triggered then you won't hear anything until the next time it is triggered.

I don't know if that's the problem you are having but it may be, hope that was of some use ;)

that sounds like a different result than what im getting. my track mutes never happen at all in playback, not after the initial loop cycle or any cycle after that- it just doesnt want to mute!!!

change the settings for "mute/stop of one shot sample" to "IMMEDIATE" and muting a track will only mute the sounds and not just ignore the events on that track. muting a track after a sound has been triggered will then immediately stop the sound and unmuting a track after a sound has been triggered will start playing the sound in the middle of it's playback.
