Trying to figure this out

Okay i'm trying to record multiple sounds from my fanton xa into my mpc in the same sequence but different tracks. First of all is that possible. Because when i do record one sound from the keyboard into the mpc it records. But when i try to get get another sound on another track, the recorded sound changes when i change the sound in the keyboard. Any suggestions on how or what to do. I will appreciate it.

Okay say i record a sound from the keyboard into the mpc in a sequence on track 1. Then i go to track two in the same sequence and search the keyboard for a different sound, the recorded sound on track 1 changes to what ever sound i'm going to in the keyboard instead of staying recorded. I hope you can understand that b/c i need some help with this.

It sounds like you just record MIDI instead of the actual sound from your keyboard.

Stilo what you mean by that. I thought you have to record midi in order to get it to your mpc. Can you explain what you mean please b/c i'm new to this. I will appreciate it.

What you are recording to your mpc is midi data NOT audio. that audio is you hear will ALWAYS come from the kybd.

Each program in the your kybd needs to be assigned to a different midi channel 1-16. Mpc midi track 1, record a program. CHANGE your mpc midi track to 2, assing a different program on kybd to a differnt midi channel. Make the mpc midi track and motif channel point to the same midi channel. Change midi tracks and repeat for differnt programs.

You need to read up on midi before trying to jump into it.
