Hello all,
I've been using a DAW for years, and just bought a 2500. I'm still trying to figure out how to replicate DAW MIDI techniques on the MPC, so please bear with me.
Let's say I want to layer two kick drum samples to get a beefier sound. I have a program with my two kick samples on separate pads. If I have a kick drum pattern programmed on track 1 using kick sample 1, how do I copy the track 1 MIDI data to track 2 in order to trigger kick sample 2?
I'm guessing I can use grid edit to copy the first kick drum pattern to the separate (kick 2) pad. Is this right?
What I'm getting at is I want the two tracks to have the same feel (velocity, timing), but have them trigger separate kick samples. That way the MIDI data is identical.
Thanks.
