Hard Drive Install: Screws on front too tight....

I'm tryin to install a hard drive on my mpc that I bought a few days ago and the two screws on the front are hard as hell to get out. I think that I've pretty much stripped those two. Do u think that GC would exchange it for a different one or am I stuck? Has anyone else had this trouble.

goto home depot and get a screw extractor like 5bucks

I was just wondering... were you using precision screwdrivers, and the right size? I could imagine that if you were using a precision screwdriver it could be hard to grip those things, but if you had a regular screwdriver, the correct size, and a firm grip, it shouldn't be too hard. If it's still to hard, you might want to hit the gym.

Man, if you dont know how to use a screwdriver, you're in way over your head with an MPC.

Im not a dumb @$$..every screw on the mpc came out fine except those 2. Of course I used the right size. Thanks 4 nothin anyway.

Those screws were a little "sticky" for me too. I was able to make it happen though.

Bunch of wise asses around here. It didn't really sink in how brutal this forum is until I joined a guitar forum . People are all nice and will answer the same question 3 times a day. It feels weird over there.

LOL. My bad. I guess I just assumed that heads on a board like this have developed a thick skin and a sense of humor by the time theyre jumpin into the hip hop beatmaking mix.


In all seriousness though.. I doubt Guitar Center will get up in arms about replacing a screw or two. Just call them and ask. If you cant get them out, try calling Home Depot and asking if they have something that will allow you to remove a (fill in the blank with the size) screw thats been stripped.


Id guess theyd be more help than a board of guys who make beats in their spare time.

i used a larger screwdriver... and a little "umph"... came right out

I have the same problem but stopped with installing the CD before stripping. I was thinking about taking it to radio shack for a little help for a better screw driver than the one I have. I am a little nervous about stripping the damn thing and having to go to home depot for some help. It should be easier.
