Peak Problems with Resampling

Hi homes,
i hope someone can help me here..
I tried the resampliing function of my mp 2k5 but allways when i resample, the signal of the new snd file is too weak.
I allready tried to adjust the volume but i couldnt find a way to do that..
doesnt work with the REC in or the MasterLevel Knobb... could anyone tell me how to do that ?

Usually it shouldn't be that low. You can see from the fact that the REC Gain doesn't do anything, that the MPC obviously just copies WAV data.

Try setting the Master output level to different values (MODE - Other), would be what comes to my mind spontaneously.

Also, how do you judge the level of the new recording? By playing it directly from the Record screen, or by putting it on a Pad first?

So should it be set to 0db all the time ?
Standart Setting is -12db
The Signal goes from the MP -> Motu 24i/o.
Im not so into unity Gain.

Interesting, I didn't really think myself that would be the problem.

Don't know what's recommended on that, but I think 0 dB is more common in studio environments than -12. I have mine on 0 dB as well, less seems to low in volume to me.

Yo, I didnt think that would be the problem either. I remember trying adjusting the master volume and resampling before and not noticing a difference. But damn, stilo was right on point. Props

But I don´t understand it. When you record a song, which has been produced with -12db global setting, why has it another sound character (I think it isn´t just but also volume,more bass) when you play it afterwards in trim mode?

Does somebody have an idea?

I think it might just be a cascading effect. The sampler tunes down everything it plays by -12dB. So it tunes your beat down by 12 dB, then records that, and plays that recording back tuned down by another 12 dB afterwards. So it appears lower in volume. If you could adjust the Master Out to a positive value, it would get louder with each resampling - which is probably why they didn't allow to do that.

While sampling the Main Outs? It's not necessary.

Compared to my old REASON Beats, my stuff has more power now, but I made all with -12db setting...
And if you change the setting afterwards or before resampling, you get a distortion effect..
I would have to turn everything down and would loose dynamics.

There´s no other way, except recording it to i.e. Cubase, right? ; what´s not possible for me because my computer´s too weak.

I run mine at -18db, it seems wrong but it badly clips any of my gear (tried both my Behringer MX9000 and Echo AudioFire 12 both times using balanced jacks) I plug it into if I set it any higher.
