Can you turn the green backlight OFF!??!?!? It's really annoying being that bright all the time and i have seen pictures with it off somewhere?

Helps much appreciated!

That doesn't turn off the backlight, it just lowers the contrast. You can't turn off the backlight.

Akai put the on/off on the 3k backlight and most didn't use it.
Then they made the 2k and it had that supper glow backlight that burned out so badly.
They just came up with using a better quality backlight with that required lower light was the answer with the newer units.

Lowering the contrast should make it dim enough, I can't imigine using a display with no backlighting.
No backlighting is what made me not like the Roland R-8.
