++++Varying Volume Problems++++

I'm using a 2500 with an s950. when i record, triggering the samples from the s950 through the mpc, the second loop of 2 bars is quieter than the first loop. my only logical explanation to why this is happening is that the loops are overlapping and this is somehow reducing the level of the 2nd bar, however i can't understand why this would happen even if this is the cause at all .

It may be a very easily fixed problem however i cant fix it, so if you can help me out i would greatly appreciate it.

...normaly if samples overlap you hear some kind of phasing or hiss becaus it gets louder than with only one sample playing, but sometimes this phasing leads to frequency cancelling because the frequencies overlap in such a way that one wave equals the other and then no sound or less sound is heard.
try it wit other samples and hear if it sounds the same, the i´d assume the problem lies in the sequencing part or in the syncing (but in this case probably the first loop would be out of time).

i thought that, but i recorded a two bar loop and then when i play it back, it plays the first loop normal volume then the second time it plays half as loud. I cant see how it can be phase cancellation when its playing the same loop over and over again. It jus seems to play the loop half as loud as it should be every other time.

Any other ideas as to what this could be?

What is your exact setup? Is the 950 only hooked to the 2500 via MIDI? Is it routed through the Input Thru? Does it only play through the MPC or on a parallel channel on a mixer? .....

ye the 950 is only hooked to the 2500 via MIDI. and no not routed through the Input Thru. Its then sent via the s950 outputs to a mixer.

the problem was that the loop was coming out on two channels: the main mix out and an idividual channel. the individual channel played constantly, however the main mix played also, every other time, therefore doubling the volume of the loop. so u must turn down the main mix out when using individual channel outputs.
