Hard Disk Install problem

duplicate post sorry, but:

does anyone know how to format a hard disk?

it's a standard "approved" Hitachi Travelstar HTS541080G9AT00 80GB....

i've installed it carefully as per the manual but can't even see the disk in the load/save menus?

i dont know if it's relevant but i'm on a Mac (OSX)...

Now, where did you install your hard disk in?

If it's not recognized, then it's probably not sitting right. Have you removed all jumpers from the disk as told in the manual?

By the way, did you try the Format function in the UTIL page?

thanks for getting back to me. eventually i got the mpc to format the disk using the util function. the problem was that the mpc slowed to a crawl before i had the disk formatted. now its good.
