2500 Newbie Q. :/

So, you record a sample. Press F* to "Play" - Volume's nice, loud and crisp. Play it from the pad and it's low as s**t.

What's up with that? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Abe :?:

which os are you running?

did you chop the samples using chop shop? this will turn stereo samples into mono and then they might sound different.

in trim screen there is another view called "loop". sometimes the sample is highlighted in a different area than in trim view and this can lead to strange sounding samples. the mpc seems to confuse which part of the sample it should play. in my observation this happened mostly on the early os releases and if you used the q-link sliders to trim.

ok here“s a few things you can check:
- velocity settings both in current program and in current track.
- filter settings in program mode
- mixer settings and fx send levels (maybe a fx from last session?)
- do you autoload some stuff when turning on the mpc? older programs might use different settings.
- check if a q-link effect is linked to the same pad you are putting your sample on.
- maybe the last hope is a factory reset of the os (this will not revert your current os version, but will restore the default settings on the mpc). to do this hold the erase button while powering up the machine. you might want to check your personal settings afterwards (e.g. midi sync/ pad velocity/ master level/ etc.).

I know exactly what you are talking about - I think its a feature. You can also get it when in Trim Mode (perhaps this is because Full Level is default to on?)

As far as Im aware Ive had it on most of the official OS's.
