prospective 2500 buyer

With the 2500...
how do you cats utilize the pc interfacing with this machine?
I know you can just drag samples to the mpc icon on ur desktop or something, but can I actually make the entire programs on my mac and shoot them to the machine? If so, is this included software or just mpcpgm maker? Anyone with a 2500 and a mac, holla

yes, yes and yes, just programmaker and bluebox...

and by the way there´s also an interface called midi which can be connected to the mpc and to the pc - this can lead to way more interactivity than just the drag and drop of samples.

Ahh, now it is becoming clear to me..

So the BLUE BOX is for use with 'jjOS' and
mpcpgm maker works with akai OS...
or do I have it twisted?

sorry bluebox is pc only but not for jj os even if it could work. never tried this since i don´t use the jj os. also there is no need for an external editor for the mpc if you use it the way it is designed. sample (or import samples) - trim and cut your samples - assign them to the pads in a programm - maybe tweak the filters a bit - and then freak out some beats and record - finish.
the programmaker can be helpful if you go another way: sample to your pc - drop that into recycle to cut - export to programmaker - assign the samples there - usb the program and samples to your mpc (be warned usb 1.0 only - so if you intend to use 30, 40 mb of samples for a progam this can take a while...) - load the program to the mpc memory from the hdd or cf card - and now you can start to make a beat. both ways lead to the same goal.
so it is up to personal preference and the demands of the recording situation.
