Bleeding pads?

So I'm convinced I got a bootleg machine when these thigns first came out from musiciansfriend. Neither OS has helped me with various issues. This one in particular. If I'm playing out a couple drum rhythms, I often hit a pad and all of a sudden a pad is either playing a pitched down version of the sample or triggering other samples randomly. I'll hit a hat pad and it will play the hat and the snare every so often. I don't have it set up to trigger this other pad and my snares are set up too far away from my hats for it to be me accidentally hitting both pads. Anyone else ever have this problem? After recording, it also randomly plays different samples on playback, or sometimes cuts loops before they finish. I feel like I am having a mechanical issue, not a software issue at this point. No one else ever seems to have this problem. I have had this thing over a year, where could I get this fixed?

i've actually encountered something slightly similar, although its not a permanent problem. I bought my 2500 used from east village music in manhattan, and things have been pretty stellar since, but i've noticed sometimes when i've just carted the mpc somewhere that the pads will bleed. I'll pull up the the program page and when i hit a pad, itll flash between two or more pads, so the mpc is actually showing me that its sensing a couple pads triggered when i hit only one.

but i've only noticed this after ive moved my mpc around, perhaps josteled it a little much in transport. this usually shows up if im gigging with my turntables, or if im moving the studio setup somewhere. luckily, it seems to go away after i give the thing a long rest, and since i've been extra extra careful moving it, it hasn't acted up since! so the good news is if you baby the thing, you'll have luck. perhaps your mpc was bounced around a little too much and now its stuck that way.


btw ive never had problems with the samples shortening or sequences acting funny. my only other issue is the recordable track mute feature doesnt always work the 2nd or 3rd pass around (but that's in akai, i still havent tested it in jj yet).

I figured out the root of my problem. I unplugged all of my midi cables from my mpc and am no longer having any of these problems. I realized in teh step edit mode that there were all these random tasks saying breath control and all this other stuff. I guess my new dilemma is trying to figure out if my midi setup is the problem or if I just need new cables and set them up the same way. I actually had a similar problem with the random midi messages with my 2000xl, so I'm thinking it has to be wiring, since I had my 2000 xl working the same way once and then just started having problems. On the 2000 though, these midi signals did not mess up playback like it does on the 2500. Anyone know how to test if midi cables are working or not?

I actually had something like this,but it was the midi cables out of my novation sl's automap sending bogus midi signals into the 2500,and nothing to do with the 2500, akai os or jj os.If u get weird midi messages always check what ur sending in the 2500, as it's only midi and it will spew out whatever is being sent in..Tracking it down is very simple and alot of times, it may just need to be midi filtered..

OR maybe it's the 2500 pads failing.
Lots post about it and that's basically what you get intermittent multi-triggering or notes.
It will also later effect functions that you do with the SHIFT and PADS.
Just keep your eyes open to see if that's what's startingto happen.

This happens to mine too, but it goes away pretty quickly. Maybe they can update that in another OS?

There are a few other weird glitches when naming things. You can erase the name Sample01 and put Stevie1 and it will automatically try to put the 01 that was there before. Stuff like that. I'm going to make a separate post i guess. Holla back

I've got a brand new LE and have noticed this once or twice, but it doesn't last.

It only gets worse, when it starts to affect other functions done by the pads like naming.

If a LE can have this problem then it's safe to say Akai hasn't fix it or probably have no plans to fix it based on how long it's been showing up.
