I did go through every post concerning compact flash cards, but I could not find anybody that reported this problem. The original 32 MB card worked fine, but now that even causes the machine to crash-(this was after I used it to upgrade to the current Akai OS).
I have a sandisk 2 gig card and a 1 gig card. I turn the machine on and it boots up perfectly, however when I put in either CF card the screen goes blank so I am not able to even get to the format screen.
If the card is in slot when I boot, it flashes the ram amount breifly and then the screen goes blank. This machine only has 16MB installed.
Anybody have an idea about this?
Thanks

Just wanted to let all of you know that the above problem turned out to be bent pins in the card reader. I straightened the pins out and carefully slid the Comapct flash in and lo and behold the machine did not crash and I could format the cards. If you ever have this problem take a flashlight and examine the pins on the card reader to make sure they are aligned properly.
Thanks
