Copy a sample in program mode quickly???

Peeps: When in program mode, for the purpose of layering or doubling up a drum sound (we can do up to four per pad), is there a way to quickly copy that drum sound to the same pad with out scrolling through all the samples currently loaded. Maybe like a copy paste kinda key function. I often load several gigs of drums up at any given time and scrolling through 5 or 10 gigs of drums to find the same drum is at times consuming. I feel like i'm gonna kill my data wheel prematurely. Thanks

Sorry, but I just have to ask...how do you get 5-10 Gig of sounds into 128MB of memory?

maybe he means when loading from the harddrive "explorer"...
i think if you just hit a pad when loading a sound it just replaces the old sound rather then layering it. this function should be there because it would speed up loading layered kits without beeing limited to the amount of samples currently in ram.
edit: wait, the thread title says something about copying...?
maybe he wants a function like multiple assignment, like: choose sample, hit one, two, four pads, then load and bamm.... sample is assigined to all this pads. or choose one pad and hit it one, two,... times and this is how many layers that sample should load to?

go to program mode and hit the pad that the drum you're trying to copy is assigned to, then hit trim and that sound you chose should be the one in trim mode. then just "edit" and extract an exact same sample of that sample.

from my understanding, you're trying to do a flanging/phasing effect, correct?

nah he just wants to load for example "kick10020" - into pad a1 and then load it into another pad without scrolling thru "kickxxxx" just to get to "kick10020", and at the time of writing I am NOT aware of any easy way to do this , sample -> pad assignment is a scrolling procedure as far as I am aware

Thanks Jo, Episode, and Dirt for responding. I think Dirt's feelin me. So I quess there is no real ez way of doing it. Maybe I should load less drums. I stand corrected 128 mb of drums.

ok - there is one often overlooked way to do this: on the left side of the program screen is a field that says "A1" (or another combi if you hit another pad before). move the cursor to this field and hit window - now you can copy your pad to every other pad just by moving the cursor to the "to" field and hit the desired pad and then "do it". you can do multiple copies without leaving the window, but there is no function "copy to all pads".
