Ive gotten around this issue since ih ave the 16 in's on my 002 but id truley like to just press play on pt and have it midi lock and just bounce track for track in. Is the 2500 still outta sync like hell with pt or whatup? i tried this like a year or so ago but it was way off. Anyone on here can offer insight it would be much appreciated

it's on if you use the jj os. if you use the akai os it's still off.

that cant be possible bro u sure? If i can do it on my mpc60/asr10/s950 or even sp1200 how cant my 2500 do that. its the only thing i make beats on lately and i hate doing 2 track mixes now since you cant change anything once it comes down to the mix/master side of things... is this tru tho only with jj os?

which akai os are you running? mtc sync was added in version 1.22 and the manual addendum states that for proper sync you have to put in at least one blank bar before the recording. some devices need even longer preroll time (up to 30 SECONDS for older tape recorders...).
are your master/slave settings the right way and did you enable mmc so the mpc actually starts running if you press play in protools?
what frames did you set for mtc in protools? the mpc supports 30, 30drop, 25 and 24 frames. and you have to set the tempo on both machines to the EXACT same value (and tc to off on the mpc), because mtc does not transmitt tempo information.

ok i should be more specific. the midi sync issue that i have with the 2500 has not been fixed in akai's os's since 1.1 (the last version that was actually in sync). my issue is that the 2500 does not sync correctly when it is synced to external midi beat clock to protools or any other hardware or software. the 2500 runs early, ahead of the beat in this mode. this is not the case when using the jj os. akai has never fixed this since they broke it.
