ok , what I've got here is a 4 bar loop I pulled off a record and I've found the tempo and all but my drum hits on 1/8th note intervals sometimes match the beat and sometimes it dont , I know some of u are gonna say adjust the swing but its not just that I **** with the swing as much as I can and it gets worse , I've cut the loop in what I consider the perfect loop points , because upon playing the loop without my drums it loops seamlessly, has anyone had this problem and know a fix? , do I need to timestretch the part that doesnt fit or something? is there an easy way around this?

Even though your loop may sound good and play over with no problem (no clicks) it's possible that in such long piece (4 bars is long for me) it may go off a little, meaning the drummer wasn't perfect on the record or the whole band went off beat a little. The human feel on records is beautiful but it gets hard to put it on a beat as a whole piece, 4 bar loop. My advise would be to chop this loop at least into 16 parts (maybe even 32) and then play with them to work out the places where it goes a little off. You may need to turn off the quantize for this, as you need the mpc to record each chop in the exact place where you hit the pad. You'll figure it out, just try.

or turn off quantize and place the drums to match the sample.

if you have a loop thats like 4 bars long. chop it into 16 pads and bang it out on a tempo thats too slow so you make sure they all hit evenly, then jack the tempo up bit by bit til it plays completely smooth. that way its 4 bars long, and you know every part is going to hit where it needs to. then add drums and you're cooking. make sense?

yeah I'd sone this once before but some parts were still out , like there were slight gaps of silence in between the parts , but thats cause I was tryna keep the original tempo , I guess I just need to speed it up a bit , thanks for the feedback

where do you turn off quantize?
