I am using PT mp 7.4 on a macbook pro with M-audio Projectmix, and an mpc2500
i got the midi OUT of the pmix plugged into the 1st midi IN on the mpc
I set the 1st midi IN of the mpc to (slave) then lets say i choose Beat Clock
In Pro Tools I go to Midi Beat Clock, and check off use ProjectMix, and check off everything for Beat clock so that works
everything works, it controls the MPC and records and everything, but in Protools everything is slightly off sync in the grid, i have to manually quanitze and go through a bunch of trouble, i know there's something wrong
ITS EVEN WORSE WHEN I TRY USING MTC
In Mpc, I go to Slave again, set it to MTC
Ok back to protools, I have everything set up correctly under Session, checked off "using MTC" and got 30 preroll. I go to Peripherals, Go to MTC Generator and check off the projectmix and I even went to Digidesigns site and followed their instructions to set this all up
BUT when all the MTC settings in PT and my MPC seem to be set up perfectly correct, i go to press play on my Project Mix it just wont communicate with my MPC
so basically to sum it up, I cant get MTC to work at all
and Midi Beat Clock works but doesn't really work
what am i doing wrong, i bet people are laughing at me right now
PS- my condenser mic makes clicking and popping noises all the time, is my mic broken? could it be a bad xlr cable? or do u think its maybe a Projectmix/phantom power problem?
