Either you have your program set to mono and there's another sample cutting off the vocal thing, or you've maxed out your polyphony. The mpc can only play so many samples at once before it starts cutting them off

I've been having this same problem for a while now. Installed the latest os update hoping it would solve it, but no luck. There's seriously not even that many samples going at once. It's crazy that the MPC2000 never gave me this problem and this one which is supposed to be such an improvement does this.
This is really making this machine not look as good as I thought. Having to imagine what the sequences you're making will sound like after tracking into ProTools is pretty lame.
Anybody know if this is something that's ever going to be addressed or maybe just a defect in my machine? I'd like to get mine replaced if possible.

i had a 2000xl for 6 years before switching to the 2500. this "the MPC2000 never gave me this problem" is ridiculous, so drop it. both machines have the same polyphony.

read up in your manual about program polyphony and you'll be able to fix your problem. the mpc2500 defaults programs to mono, meaning every pad cuts off the sound from every other pad within the program. you have to turn that off if you want different pads to play at the same time.

this question is asked every few days. in fact, i'm pretty sure i answered basically this same question last week.
