The MPC2500 is 32 voice polyphonic.
No more than 32 voices can sound at the same time.
A stereo sample takes up two voices.
A mono sample takes up one voice.
'Voice overlap' in 'Program' 'Params' can be set to 'MONO' or 'POLY', meaning that a sample on a pad can or cannot overlap itself when you hit the pad before the sample playing on that pad reaches its end.
The default setting for 'Voice overlap' is 'POLY'.
'POLY' means that a sample/pad can overlap itself. 'MONO' means that a sample/pad cannot overlap itself.
If a sample overlaps itself once it is using four voices with stereo samples and two voices with mono samples. Note: if you bang on a pad quickly in succession in POLY mode a sample may overlap itself multiple times, therefore using multiple voices.
Each program of samples has a setting at the top right of the 'params' page called 'Play'. The default is 'POLY'. POLY means that every sample in that program can overlap (play over the top of each other) if their length and positioning in a sequence allows. 'MONO' means that every sample in that program cuts off any other sample that is in the same program.
For each program, 'Mute target' can be set for each sample/pad. Each pad can mute another pad if this is set. Default is off.
Peas, chips and gravy~~~~~~
