I know it says in the manual that it doesn't work perfectly but how does it work for detecting tempo for like 4 bar loops? I'm not going to use it for detecting tempos of whole songs just small pieces of music from records. It should work good for that right.

Also a new user, i've been playing around a little with the tempo detect today, it seems to work fairly well, only messed around with 2, 4, and 8 bar loops so far.

I do things a little differently but they seem to work for me. I take a sample and trim it to the region I want. If it is a loop I will count the bars to find ut if its 1,2,4,or 8 bars. Once I have figured that out I will create a sequance that is double the loop. so if the loop is two bars I create a 4 bar loop. Then I record the sample onto bar 1 beat 1 then bar 3 beat 1. I put the sample in mono mode in the program page and then play the sequance. If the bpm is too slow there will be silence between when the sample repeats. If its too fast then the sample will get cut short. once you adjust the tempo you should have a loop that repeats smoothly.
