o.k. I've read the manual, and even saw a clip on youtube on how to make your samples change octaves and not go from slow to fast. The youtube clip seemed to explane it plain and simply, but I still cant get it. Can any-1 help-out???!!!???

The way I do it is: copy the sound to a new pad, and pitch it up when youre in Trim with the Tune dial, then I go to Time Stretch in the Edit section of Trim, and BPM match it to the same BPM as the original sample. (Find your BPM by loopin from start to end and check Params)

o.k. umm... when im in trim i dont see a "tune dial". only in the sample screen do I see one. And also, as far as checking the params, I only see tempo (120.0 ect) thanx for the help, but im still kinda lost. If you have time to mabey explain more, that would be cool.

the easiest way to do this is to create a patched phrase in trim mode. but be warned: if your sample is stereo it will be only using the left channel of it.

cut your sample auto or equally, then don´t create sliced samples but create a patched phrase and put this into your program. then you can change the tempo like you want and the pitch of the sample stays the same.

the mpc is a bit odd at tempo detection - it always assumes the sample is only one bar long so there might be a wrong tempo displayed. also the tempo that is set for your active sequence can change the outcome of the tempo detection.

Yeah, I was messing with the patch phrasing last night, and seemed to be going the right direction but didnt quite get it . Gotta go to work now, I'll head right down stairs when I get home though. thanx.
