Syncing Kaoss Pad 3 to MPC...Please Help!!

So I am desperately trying to sync my MPC to a kaoss pad. On the Kaoss pad manual it says "the bpm of the kaoss pad 3 can be set to follow MIDI Time Clock messages from an external device. Connect the midi out of the device to the midi in of the kp3"

so basically that is all I have to do to make the KP3 sync but for some reason even though my MPC 2500 has Sync Out set to All and Mode set to Midi Clock the damn thing is not syncing to bpm!!! any suggestions?

I should also say there is a midi cable going from the mpc OUT D to the IN of the Kaoss pad....

it is in the manual on page 21: how to set the midi filter for clock to sync to external devices. switch that from int or auto to ext.
and also if the usb connection is established this takes the priority over midi in - so you might have to remove the usb cable in this case...

and of course RTFM, I swear i did not see it hehe.

It has to receive a midi note at the beginning of each bar. Just make a dummy sequence and route it to the kp3.
