but if your screens jump unexpectedly you either have jittery fingers or simply don't know what you're doing

Thats what I was thinking.

I was working with JJOS1 for about a week and completed about 4 beats. Never had that issue. Now I have JJOS2 and been using it for about 3 weeks and have not had that issue.

JJOS is the sh1t. Gift from the MPC Gods.

well that there sounds like a hardware problem, which would be literally beyond your hands. unfortunately, that doesn't explain why (i'm assuming) it doesn't happen on the akai os.

however (and this is why i've tried to be conscientious about jjos posts here), trust me when i say i take careful note of all bug reports made for either the 2500/1000 jjos system and this issue you've referenced is not something that i've ever heard reported before you - and the nature of this issue, if it actually were a software bug, is something that would happen to more than just you, and therefor would have been mentioned already - does that make sense?

i automatically assumed the worst when i posted previously, and i apologize for that. you probably know how it is: i've invested far too much of my own personal time testing and analyzing the software to have it maligned. constructive criticism is fine - great, even - but if there's misinfo, it's my obligation to step in. hell, i even had to set john mayer straight on a small detail!

but frankly, i'm so much more interested in the subject of this thread:

what exactly IS new about chop shop 2.0? i've always thought this whole 2.0 name has been a silly way of saying "we now chop in 2 channels instead of just taking the left one for some reason and telling our customers that our processors aren't strong enough to chop in stereo even though they actually are..."

Dont know if this counts but i have this problem too (free jjos). I "think" it has something to do with the F buttons. Sometimes when im rushing, i would hit the wrong F button where there isn't a menu or tab and it would take me to a different screen. The occasion is rare but it happens.

I sent a set of simple steps to JJ causing the wrong screen to appear when changing a track name. He said he couldn't reproduce it but it always happened to me. Its not like I didn't report this some time ago. But because I switched back to 1.23, I don't know what the steps are now. Something to do with changing case and moving back and forth - always did it.

I'm just not interested in following it up now because I am happy with 1.24.

there are a couple reports, only two of which sound similar. one fellow just reported it happening many more times on the akai os than the jjos. hardware issue is still not out of the question. lack of reproducibility on Murai's end still beg the question of this as a bug as opposed to an individual issue...it's not out of the question as a bug, but it needs more focused testing and a step by step reproduction. also, it belongs in the jjos forum for anything to actually happen with it.

i've started a thread over there for further discussion if necessary. if this turns out to be an issue i'll be pleasantly surprised.
