Recording MIDI, Nanosynth - MPC

Hey guys,

I borrowed a friends Alesis Nanosynth and it's giving me some issues.
I hooked up the MIDI I/O and also some RCA's from the Nano to the MPC.
I set the program to MIDI and then went to record each sound I was going to use, it recorded fine but only plays the sounds with the nanosynth turned on. It confuses me because I recorded the sounds with RCA's, although it was a MIDI device, doesn't seem like it should matter? Any way around this?

Hmmm, I just went to MIDI settings on the MPC
I changed "Pad to Internal sound" to ON, and it may have solved my problem.
