Whats up everyone, here's my situation. I've owned an mpc 1000 for 2 years now and I've been thinking of upgrading to a 2500 .I recently found a guy on craigslist who is trying to sell his 2500 for $1,200,it has a hard drive and DVD on it. He also sent me some pics and it appears to be in good condition. My 1000 had something short out on the inside about a year ago and I sent it back and AKAI fixed it has worked fine since except for some buttons not always working when I press them (thats after 2 years of use lol)and so far all the pads still work. I've heard that the 2500 is a more solid unit as far as the pads and workflow go. So my idea was that I could try and sell the 1000 on ebay for $500 maybe and just buy the 2500 and that be that. And yes I know about JJOS and how the 1000 can act like a 2500 but if my mpc 1000 does die on me then I'm out of luck. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them. Thanks

well he could but that would be cool if he's not worrying about the warranty or if he is gonna load up JJOS

You lost me! What do you mean? I'm saying if he is set on buying a used one instead of new, $1200 is too much, even with the upgrades!

oh I thought he was getting a new one....and you were trying to convince him to get a used one...my bad dude......the thing is I been hearing about more than a few 2500's getting beat in.....so I don't know about copping a used one...getting one with a warranty is the way to go in my opinion....I don't know if you copped your 2500 used....but I wouldn't assume you did......if you copped a used one...you know what they say about ppl who assume.....

Well then what is a good price to pay for a used one? I can see if he'll go down to 1000$ but a brand new one is 1700$ and I just don't have that. I don't think he's banged the shit out of the mpc but I will def. try it out before I buy it from him.

The only piece of studio equipment I have bought used is my 2500, and that was only because it was almost new and fully upgraded. It cost me the same as a new 1000 without upgrades so I think I got a great deal. :D

This is his ebay store. anyone who has ever stepped foot in armens store knows that there are some dope goodies there. If you actually visit his store you can DEFINITELY get it for less. Like I said I got a fully maxxed out 1k for LESS than a bare bones 1k... But hey, waste money as you choose.
