If my CF card reader is broken, can I still save my data and retrieve it via HD on my 2500 to PC? Or does the CF card have to be present for the computer to recognize it as a drive? Please let me know what you know anybody because I want to get the hard drive because its easier to install than the CF card reader. Also if anyone knows how to install the CF card board please explain this because I looked inside and I couldn't figure out how to completely uninstall the devise so I left it alone.

i do believe that there is a way of linking to the pc via usb cable, the manual will have more information on this though.

@ emcee....Yes I know its via USB cable but I don't think you understand what I'm trying to get at.....can I still save (VIA USB cable) to my PC if my card reader is broken and I have a HD installed will the PC recognize it as a drive or is it only the CF that will be acknowledged.

@ jDef....what are you some kind of closet freak or somethin?....stick to the subject or stay outta here punk!

1) that's what i meant, there should be some kinda way to save unto your pc via usb cable. i wouldn't have mentioned it if it was relating to something else.

2) punk?

the punk and off topic remark was meant for the perv jDef and his ballsack comment....and of course I know already that u need a USB cable to save to PC....I simply want to know if it is only for the CF or does it work also with the HD installed and the CF not present....if anybody doesnt know u need the USB to save and load from the PC they should not have the 25k...that is the basics I learned that before I even mastered the 25k....I have had the 25k since 2005 like 6 months after it was released in-fact I got mines from some factory in Japan double boxed with the factory box and the retail box and the owners manual was in Japanese so I had to master it on my own with help from these forums under a name I don't remember because it was on an older PC saved to auto sign-in...but never got the HD...now do u know if this is possible to save and load without the CF and just the HD? If you have the HD try to do either or both to PC without the CF loaded then let me know...

:D the jDef thing is 'emceewhiterabbit's signature, it automatically appears at the bottom of all his posts. You can set your own signature in your profile page.

@ emcee I wanted you to try it to let me know (if you have the HD)I dont have the HD yet but before I spend my money on the HD or CF reader (plus getting it installed and shipping if applicable) I wanted to know so I could save money by getting just the HD because I know how to install that.

 You got me on the signature there....I thought it was some random perv just postin garbage.

If the 2500 is anything like the 5000 then yes, the HD will show up on your computer, whether you have a CF card in the slot or not. If you have both, then two drives appear.

There's still a strong possibility of Cosmic posting, just so you know.

Keep 'em peeled...
