Just checked Akai Japan out and they have updated their website. They have added the pdf download section and also the new OS 1.10 dated 3 Feb 2006. However, you can not download the new OS yet  But at least we know that it is finally wthin reach.

here are a couple of the things that are fixed with os 1.1 for the 2500

midi outs C and D are fixed

the CD-M25 is write enabled. meaning you can now write to a standard CD and read from a DVD.

the release of 1.1 was scheduled for release last week but had to correct last minute issues. [/b]should[/b] be released by end of this week, beginning of next week.

without me combing through the 2500 section looking for bug reports, what were some of the other major issues (that were reproduce-able by others)? maybe i can get more heads up.

Sparq
There seems to be a growing number of people who get a "wrong file" message when loading programs (and sometimes other data like seq) from the internal HD. It doesn't seem to matter if it is an approved HD or not. I think there is some stability issues there.

Also, I believe that the "Go To" button is not working properly.

there is also a bug when u sample something of the cd drive if u use the sliders to trim it doesn't work u have to make ur last adjustments with the data wheel or the trim doesn't work. this is in the trim screen. it has been verified as a bug in a thread here. don't remember if this applies to loading samples off the cd drive. someone might want to check the treads.

I think there is a bug using the note repeat it works with internal samples and midi notes. Set the quantize to 1/16 hold the note repeat and quick ly press pads like three of them alternating like 3 different hi hats works fine try laying down a complex hi hat line. Now press note repeat and shift to automaticlly hold note repeat on if u alternate the pressing the pads like if u pressing it offbeat like u missed the timing the 1st and 2nd notes are off then they line up. works well with a synth noise. only does this if u using the note repeat with shift. i can duplicate it every time. Sometimes it is hard to notice with certain samples. this isn't a setting issue. u have to listen close. have to go to work sorry if not clear enough.

All the reproducable bugs that have been reported in this forum (including the ones forum members have yet to find) have been reported to Akai...some of them were reported back in Sept and early October.
