The 2500 sounds better than the 2k or XL in my opinion.
Turn those d*mn Master Effects off and get the vibe of it's sampler and you should see.
The Master Effects give a false presence to your sound so you don't realize your sample may not be sounding as good as you may think or it may be losing Dynamics.
You should just do some light polishing with them if you have to use them at all.
If I leave them set to on most things will sound slightly distorted when it hits the 73.
I have owned a lot of MPC and the same input or output settings give different results on every model.
Just have to find what settings work will which each model.
I just can't see how someone could go from a 2k to the 2500 and say they miss the sound of the 2k.
