Saving problems. 'file not found' 'wrong file'

hey all. new here.

ive been an akai user for years - s950, s1000, s3000 etc.
i just bought an mpc2500. seems easy enuff to program etc.

heres the beef:

i saved some progs, seqs, and samples to the hard drive but when i tried to reload them, 1 or 2 files are corrupt. it says 'wrong file'.

is this a common bug ? will using jj os get rid of this ?
or should everything be saved to p.c. via usb aswell as mpc harddrive ?

I have the same issue with my MPC, yet the sounds still load. Weird right? Do yours still load up?

yeah - all the sounds load fine. its usually the seq. or prog. that goes missing.

Hmm...no clue dude. Everything usually loads up on my system so I'm at a lost. Contact Akai. Maybe there's an update you can purchase that'll take care of the "bugs".

i doubt contacting akai will help. they're too busy adding go faster stripes to new products. (instead of ironing out simple flaws on older models)

I've never had that problem with my 2500...are you using the latest OS? It's on their website as well as instructions on how to install it http://www.akaipro.com . I think the latest is v1.23 or something. My 2500 came with 1.22, but again, I never had that problem. BTW...Hit [mode] + Other (don't recall the pad) to see which OS version you have.

don't tell him that. of course you can/should use nested folders.

the file corruption issue is a known bug of the factory os for the 1000/2500/500. jj os solves this bug.

yip this bug is fixable if ur saving to a CF card , not very nice ... but what u gotta do is copy and save EVERYTHING from the MPC and dump it into a temporary folder on ur PC , than use "utility" I think it is to format the drive , the PC will only take the folders that arent corrupt

Update : (incase its helpful to anyone else)

Last week I bought some cf cards, saved the prg.'s to c.f. and the samples to h.d.
bit of a pain saving the prg.'s separately to c.f. but at least they loaded fine the next day.

but then.........
.
.
.
just when i thought all was well.......
.
.

ghost triggering .
the daft machine started playing all pads when i hit one.
it didn't happen all the time, but more than twice in a week.
from reading all the problems on this forum, it seems that its almost a 50/50 chance you're gonna have a lot of grief with an mpc2500.
I can see why its so popular, (ease of use, portability, features etc.) but these basic flaws are bordering on criminal.

i have been a loyal akai user for many years and this is the worst product i've ever had the misfortune of owning.
I realise not all the units are like this, but akai really have some explaining to do.
