How To Delete Everything On The Mpc "Hard Drive"

I HAVE AN MPC 2500 AND I BROUGHT IT USED WITH SOUNDS ALREADY ON THE HARD DRIVE, AN IM TRYING TO DELETE ALL THOSE SOUNDS THAT ALREADY ON THERE AND ADD MY OWN TO THE HARD DRIVE.

SO IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DELETE SOUNDS/ SAMPLES THAT IN THE MPC HARD DRIVE....LEAVE A COMMENT/ REPLY EXPLAINING HOW TO DO THAT

ADD IF YOU ALSO KNOW HOW TO ADD SOUDS/ SAMPLES TO THE HARD DRIVE AND SAVE THEM TO?

In order to do this you must take the unit apart (Using a Philips head screw driver) once you have taken the unit apart you will see three PC boards remove the BIG one, Once removed you should see a FACTORY RESET BUTTON, with the unit turned on HIT THE BUTTON THREE TIMES, then turn the unit off and put it back together and you should be good to go GOOD LUCK!

Also, When ever you have a chance, you might want to read the manual, There tends to be a lot of usefull stuff in there!

Also, as far as adding sounds you can only do it through your MIDI input, In order to do this you have to go to your local guitar center and buy a MIDI to 1/4" CABLE and any adapters that you may need. Once again Good Luck (You're gonna need it)

I dont get it, your saying in order to add sounds we have to use a midi to 1/4 cable??
cant we just use usb to transfer??

I am one of the small guys on here, 77 post or something like that. Look at all of my comments, I have no problem helping people out, But when someone hops on here and ask a question that makes it obvious that they have not READ THE MANUAL, It really PISSES ME OFF, Why would you spend a $tack or two on a piece of gear and not RTFM, I will be the first to admit that the manual is not WELL WRITTEN and can be difficult especially to new users. To every one that may read this, I PROMISE YOU if you take the time to read the manual you will be so glad you did (THOSE IN FAVOR SAY "I"). When I finally got off of my lazy @$$ and read it, I learned so many small things that ended up making a big difference, I still go back through it quite often. Go lock yourself in a room and read it from beginnig to the end, 2 or 3 times, the manual is kind of like a good movie (When ever you watch it again , you always pick up on something that you did not catch the first time around) If you read it, You will save yourself a lot of time and humiliation later on down the road! PEACE!!!!!!!!

Not trying to be SARCASTIC, But have you READ THE MANUAL!

YEA I DID BUT I COULD'NT FIND WHERE IT EXPLAINS HOW TO DELETE FROM THE MPC HARD DRIVE, I ONLY SAW/READ HOW TO DELETE FROM THE "SANDISK ULTRA" MEMORY CARD

Dude, do not take your MPC apart. What these guys are trying to do is empower you. You cant expect for anyone on these boards to show you how to work your gear. You have to be willing to search. Take it from me... I was a super-newb at one point. I will help you this one time but, take the advice given to you from the fellas here. They are here to help by showing you to help yourself.

Power up the MPC2500 while holding down the ERASE button.
