I don't know what you mean by "memorised with song data", but you can only record Track Mutes in OS later then 1.2.

Ever tried hitting Window on the sample name in Program Mode? One Shot/Note On?

Mastermindsmusik wrote:I liked the Note off in the 2000XL and also the ability to envelope. I this you can get envelope program in the 2500 with JJ OS2 but Akai should have it in there OS.

Ever tried hitting Window on the "Lvl" field in Program Mode? That what you looking for?

OOOOOO SH!T. Ay good looking. I thought it didnt have it. THANKS A MILL BRUH. When i saw it wasnt in the program like in the 2000xl i figured it wasnt there.

I guess I will give it a few weeks and see how I get on with it (only had the 2kxl for a week, the 2500 a day) maybe once I get used to it I will prefer it, but at the moment the 2kxl is my favourite for the flow.

Thanks for all your input.

Mastermindsmusik wrote:Why do u wanna delete the muted tracks? Just leave em muted. What i do is make 1 sequence. Record everythig the beat is gonna have in that 1 sequence. Then. Mute whatever for the intro. Copy that , mute this unmute this whatever for the hook. Copy that sequence Mute this that for the hook and break. Copy mute unmute whatever for the 1 bar of the verse and so on.

...to free up memory - for me anyway.

No problem...some things have changed in the 2500, a little skipping through the screens should usually let you find it...and remember, the Window button lights up now :!:

Hey what up Phate phase: I dont know if this will help but first, you can group mutes, so by hitting one button you can mute several tracks in shot. Good for auditioning drops.!!!
Secondly like what others have told you make a few duplicates of your sequence. Mute the tracks you dont want to hear in each sequence. Leave them alone!!!! When you go into song mode and chain all your sequences together there will be a part that will say track status!!! Select muted tracks ignored. The mpc 2500 will actually delete your muted tracks and only play the ones you that were not muted. Hope this help!!!

@trackheadz - Thanks for the tips bruh :)

@Bugfix - If I hit erase in trackmute screen nothing happens, but if I go to the mute field on the main screen and hit erase I can scroll thru some options including erasing track mutes but that does not erase muted tracks, just recorded track mutes. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm running Akai v1.24 on my 2500

The problem I have with just copying the pattern multiple times and muting different tracks in each is that if I forget what is muted and want to try more variations of mutes - because I tend to flip between song mode and pattern mode, messing with different structures. Also on some of the variations I might want to place a fill on the last bar of one of the muted tracks, if the track was erased I just record the fill job done, but this way I have to manually erase the track then unmute it record the fill. I guess I could write it down on a notepad to keep track of things but I like to work fast

But all in all so far I am getting to like the machine more, I can edit samples quicker on the MPC than on the computer (apart from naming which is a PITA, I like the JJ method) If it had that mute thing from the 2kxl it would be even better though

But anyways thanks for the tips!

Oh, sorry I thought you should try that, didn't remeber does it works on akaios or no. On jjos it's a shortcut to erase all mutes at once in a sequence.
