Im selling an Akai Professional 2500 case. Its like a weird Hybrid of soft & hard. I got it when I bought my 2500 years ago. But don't have the 2500 anymore. I kept it cause it was cool. haha. Wierd thing is I can't find anywere else online that sells this. Must have only been in production for a little bit. Anyone else have one?

Anyhow, PM if you'd like to buy mine for $75, plus shipping. If not tonight, Fleabay it goes.

just want to make sure, because according to this description, these dimensions:

Mixer Compartment: 15" X 13"-15" X 6.5"
Exterior Side Pockets (2): 9" x 4" x 2"
Exterior Laptop Pocket: 15" x 12.5" x 2"

are a bit too small to accommodate the MPC's 16.33" Width

just want to make sure that Gigskinz didn't change the design or something, because i'd like to pick this up, but i'd have to order it so i won't get a chance to check it before i buy

I wouldnt put my MPC in a bag. Thats nuts!!! Hard case or nothing...

soft case is fine for me... so can someone pls let me know if the Gigskinz bag that i linked is the same one they bought from GC that fits the 2500

has anyone tried this ebay seller here?? ...because $99 shipped sounds like a decent deal for a professional ATA case for the mpc2500... i'd like to know if anyone's ordered from here before:

Gigbags/hard cases are great fr road trips, but for the plane, someone needs to develop a bag big enough for the Drum Machine and some clothes. These airlines are going bonkers with the bag fees..some are even charging for EVERY bag that you bring. I'm not trying to pay $25.00 each way to bring my MPC.
Story:
I once bought my MPC to Atlanta in a hardcase (about $80) and they wouldn't allow me to carry it on the plane. I get to Atlanta, and everything except the MPC arrived...it got misdirected to Pittsburgh. I was seriously pissed off and they assured me I would have it later that day. The day went, no calls. Next day, they were trying to locate it!! Locate it?? You told me it was in Pittsburgh!! A few hours later, a knock at the door, the drum machine arrived. I was happy!
I take the MPC upstairs, and ALL my numeric/transport/etc buttons were under the faceplate. I tried to convince myself that maybe the transfer moved it around too much (he hardcase didn't guarantee the MPC wouldn't move at all) so I take off the 100 screws, align the faceplate and tried to make some beats..
PROBLEM:
Apparently the volume button moved SO much it broke from the soldering. No volume, no beats. At home I got away with using the digital outs into my CDR's digital in, but Sprint completely phuked up my 2500. I'm convinced the MPC was opened up (after seeing some screws that were not screwed in straight) and I think they tried to look inside it, but got frustrated and tried to close it back up.
Moral of the story:
If your going to bring your MPC on the plane, MAKE SURE YOU CARRY IT WITH YOU! I bought a softcase (about $100), and that was cool, but you can't pack any clothes in it. There are some smaller suitcases that will fit overhead. The guy talking about the Goodwill stores is right on point. I wouldn't spend $100+ on a bag designed for any particular hardware. Small suitcase, use the clothes as padding, pack light and pack TIGHT! It's guaranteed to arrive, you'll save money, and you won't ever tell a horror story like I did!

that's the kind of horror story that could make someone want to set fire to their underwear on an aeroplane!

i'm still looking for the pefect MPC2500 case that i can take on a plane... are those serato backpacks well padded and ok to take onboard a plane? or what else has anyone else used without issues for international travel??

^^^crossings, you find a good bag? I need to get something that i can use as a carry on, hopefully fit a laptop too. damn it, i might just buy an sp404sx instead and just bring that.

nope... i never did... but i also haven't needed one just yet, so i kinda gave up after not hearing from anyone else...
