How To Sync MPC 2500 To Cubase

I think I have tried everything...

No matter what I do it doesnt get a faster response then 0.035 seconds in before it starts recording. And to top it off sometimes it starts recording at 0.035 or 0.04 seconds. This always makes my drums sound off when in reality in my MPC they hit perfect.

I think Im just gonna download Reaper for free and see if I can get that to work...

And you tried the 8 bar thing? In reality though, as long as the delay is the same for every track you record, it should end up all lining up perfectly once it's all tracked. But if you're saying that sometimes the delay is .035 and other times .04, then there is your problem. That delay can't ever change in the middle of recording. You need to find out why it changes. In reality, you are never gonna get absolute 0 latency. I don't even think HD/TDM setups do! But like I said, as long as the latency value stays the same, everything should be fine, even with midi clock. Also, make sure you aren't recording with any plugins active.

9/10 it is user error when it comes to midi. Alot of times you click and **** with so much shit you just end up screwing everything up with Midi. MTC should be dead on I have been using it since I started making beats and all Pro Tools versions since 6.9 have never given me problems.

You can nudge tracks by as low as 1ms in Cubase if you need to correct the timing.

It's funny though ALC and a bunch of dudes that I know all don't use Midi. They all say from there experiences over the past 15 yrs or so that Midi with Pro tools does something to the tracks even though it's still supposed to be the MPC's sequencing going into Pro Tools they all stick to the "It's not what you see it's what you hear" cause music is about listening with your ears not with your eyes.

Yeah, man! I think for the most part, it's either in peoples heads, or they just don't understand the technology or just can't get it to work right. Everything I track sounds EXACTLY like the way it sounds in the MPC!

esp when your app features sample accurate midi playback

Looks like Im going back to Reaper...

I used Reaper for about 2 or 3 weeks and it worked fine. The only reason why I went back to Cubase was because it seems easier for me to mix on and looks less complicated to me.

I think it sounds the same to me personally too. But I know my boy don't use it cause he likes to nudge and move things around so he likes to not midi up
