I just recently put the jj operating system on my 2500 and im never going back to the akai os. if ur not switching os's on ur 2500 just cuz ur scared to lose the direct record feature than you are sadly mistaken and need to switch ASAP!

discussing with is the best OS is pretty much stupid and leads nowhere.

JJ as alot more features and faster workflow.. but not everyone wants that (apparently..) And if they don't, its their right.
Personally my take is: I PAID a lot a f*ckin money for this machine and i want all the features i can get and a fast and reliable workflow to as productive as i can be.
If the next guy only wants a simple chopping machine its okay... but one thing is for shure i would not count on much more Akai OS Updates... just look at the time the nuAkai mpcs are available and the number o updates... its ridiculous!!
If i was on Akai OS i would be pissed!! Plus a bunch of people who bought the machine when it came out couldnt even SAVE!!

:D

If I wanted slow I would use PC software and spend 10 times longer to click and drag to get things done. I personally don't find 1.24 slower to use than JJ OS. Not with the things I do and how I use it. Well OK, I set up a template kit once and have used it over and over again instead of global editing all the time. But that's about it.

i hate to bring up an old cliche but i feel it's needed right about now in this thread: a LOT of amazing music has been made on MPC's and whole volumes of it were made on machines with the native Akai OS and for that matter less Features than Any of the current-ish MPC's.

that is not an anti-JJos statement but more a reminder that all this shop-talk on OS has absolutely nothing to do with making music that will resonate more or less with other humans.

I agree with PROPPA^^^^^^^

Speaking on this topic is like speaking to a BRICK WALL for the most part, "The conversation will go nowhere". As I said before to each it's own. until someone can get on here and say that JJOS (Not Knocking It) Made them 10 GRAMMYS and millions of dollars this whole argument is pointless, Let's be honest none of us will never get on the level of Dr. Dre, Timbaland, DILLA and many other great producers out there, So stop whining just because someone want's to use a different OS than what you're using. Focus more on making your music and doing you! But also I look at it like this I promise you that you could give some legendary producers a 3000 with limited features compared to todays MPC's (And of course no JJ (Once again not knocking it)) and I'm sure there's a pretty good chance that their tracks would still be hotter! Me myself I like the 1.23 (If it aint broke, don't fix it. Look at how complex these machines are do you think they or the OS will ever be perfect, Is your computer perfect. As much as I love my MAC, I would be a D@MN LIE if I said that I have never had any issues with it, So that goes to say that no OS will ever be perfect. Is JJOS FLAWLESS, HELL NO! I read the long @SS bug list, But if that's what works for you so be it.

But for now! MAKE MUSIC, BIT<HES!

i don't know why people talk bad about jj os....

i had some midi sync problem with mpc2500.... if i slave mpc2500 with an other mpc as a master i loose sync after 4 beat... this before 1,24....

so i update to jj and bang the issue was away... so i try the JJ XL and damn..... even my eyes can see better in that screen with more graphic (not to mention the 3523525 new functions, made by someone who know what is making music, and not by an Ak.... NUMARK engineer that just work as engineer and dunno what is it making music with an mpc....)

Everyone owning a 25k know about jjos, so its no use advertising it on this forum like hell ...
Also i think that jjos presence doesnt help those that pretend an updated legit Os from Nukai without spendin more money ... i think this is a good reason for Akai os users to avoid jjos ...
Also jj is tryn to transform the MPCs in standalone kinda gears, most of the people producin real music dont need it obviously and dont have so much time to waste to learn a different os than a simple original one and/or updatin every week ... so i agree: 'discussing with is the best OS is pretty much stupid and leads nowhere'
