Static Noise from my 2500.

I get interference a lot from my 2500. when I unplug and disturb the cables that are inside the main cable that hooks to the sound source via the MPC.

I realized that when cables touch, they get interference, pops, clicks, hissing, humming etc.

You can tell, if you take out the left cable in your MPC to the speaker source and touch the tip. If you get lucky, you can pick up radio freqs--i.e. truckers having conversations on their CBs or police freqs.

make sure that cables touch as little as possible, especially ones that are connected to power supplies and MISC appliances, like fans or laptops.

plastic ties are great to couple and bundle cables together. It also keeps them organized, so when you wrap them, you are spending less time untanging the cables. Doing this also gives cables a longer life.

Cables can also get real expensive. Thing is, everything that I use is MONSTER or monster flats.

The quality of the cables can play a part in this too.

try to spring for better quality cables, because they give better quality and seperate the metals inside of each individual cable, giving less interaction and ultimate interference between them. Just about all of my a jack adapters have gold tips, this gives a better signal I/O and keeps interference down too.

Jack adapters are only a few bones at guitar center or even wal mart.

i´ve found a solution by accident last night.
go into sample mode and select cd as input (i own the 2500se, so the cd-drive was already installed). now enter the main screen again and voila...the static noise is gone. well...erm...not really gone. next time i turn the machine on the noise comes back.

i will try to remove the cd-drive (as i don´t need it) and see if the noise will come back.

EDIT: can those of you who have the same static noise issue please try if my method works.

Sounds very interesting, i'll give it a try!

Removing the DVD/CD drives from both of my 2500's with the static issue didn't make a bit of difference in my case, it was still making that damn noise.

yeah, the same here. but the workaround i posted before still works for me (after putting the drive back in).

Yeah it works. It even works when you change input from analog to digital a few times...

Changing the sampling input on my 2500 DID in fact make the static go away this morning.....an interesting development we have here.

I have the same problem I hear a interference in my headphones and a horrible static noise when I push play and push the pads can someone help me

Now that i have a mixing desk, i dug out the 2500 again and tested the individual outputs. Seems like they are fine.

The stereo outs still make the same static noise, but the individual outs didn't do it even after two hours of messing around. I know it's not a solution, but personally i'm fine as long as the individual outs are working.

could it be the hard disk, or psu inside the mpc ?

I've just encountered this problem. shit! it started on my 2500 when I was sampling the main out to free up poly an now it wont go away no matter what I do! arghh

I don't have the issue but watch me plug in SDPIF and be in the club.

I'm tripping of what crossing said on page 1 about replacement LCD's. You don't have to ground them if you don't want to and I didn't. That could definitely be a root of a problem like that. But I bet most of these issues are stock LCD so I don't know.

HD magnetic interference picked up in the wiring to an output is generally continuous and more like a high mid to high frequency whine on standard magnetic HD's. If it's that you can access the HD and listen for it rev the frequency higher or have a 'rhythm" to it matching the disk access.

But the descriptions are saying static so again, can't call it.

i now occasionally have a different issue altogether which is that sometimes i'll turn on my mpc2500 and it won't make any sound at all after loading a beat... it will just just make a faint static noise when any pads are pressed... i then turn the mpc off and then back on and it's fixed... but still this shouldn't be happening.

one time it even happened while i was in the middle of making a beat [while using audio tracks, not sure if related]... luckily when no sound comes out i can still save my project and turn the mpc off n back on and it's good to go... but this has me worried despite it not happening all the time.
