I'd worry more about the sequencer not sounnding analog enough than not receiving midi signal thru usb...

1. The USB cable is for dragging and dropping sounds onto the CF card, you don't send MIDI over this cable, you just transfer sounds too and from your MPC. If your computer doesn't recognise the MPC then perhaps try a new USB cable, and also if you're on a MAC don't forget to press the "Mount" option on the LOAD/SAVE menu on your MPC.

2. FL Studio is not your audio interface, that is your DAW (digital audio workstation). An audio interface is something that connects to your computer via USB or Firewire and gives you certain input and output options. It's sort of like a bridge between FL Studio and any external equipment you might want to use, like the MPC.

3. You're not getting a signal from the MPC, because it doesn't send MIDI data over the USB Cable, it only sends it from the outputs at the back labelled MIDI OUT. What you will need to do is connect a MIDI cable to your audio interface (like the picture above), and then make sure you have FL Studio set up to use the audio interface as the main option and not your on-board soundcard that is built into your computer.

4. I promise the manual has plenty of connectivity advice.

Nobody has suggested them yet?? The MIDI Headphones would solve all of this

-Midi is a type of signal (please google that shit)

-The usb on the mpc won't support midi

-Buy an usb adapter (midi plugs on one side, usb on the other, google that shit)

Easier then an Ikea manual

Is it possible to use the MPCs midi files in cubase???(or any other daw) I mean without having it hooked straight to the DAW( I know how that works). But just by loading em onto a computer and in to the DAW?
I need to know this, for working with someone who works with a computer.. we're thinking of starting a project this way..
