I don't have to attempt that do know which unit will be better for that. The V-synth hands down. That is what is was created to do.

I would not load an 88 key fender rhodes patch into my MPC. I would load that into a standalone hardware sampler or one of my sound modules that have full spec sample features. Than I would sequence the 88 key fender rhodes patch on the MPC.

The first CDRW drive I tried in the MPC 2500 was taken from my Korg Triton Studio, which uses the same size drive. The MPC powered up fine and gave power to the drive. The eject button even works. But that is about it. It didn't register the drive at all. In addition to that, with that drive installed, the Toshiba hard drive I installed stop working correctly.

I am taking an un-educated guess..but I think the MPC 2500s current OS 1.00 has no CDRW drive support. I say this because these units didn't ship with any drives. When my wife placed an order for these MPCs, she was told that the MPC 2500s are ready to ship but it will be the CD drive will ship next month.

So, it is just a hunch. I will get another CD drive delivered tomorrow. I wil try that one as well and post my findings.

The hard drive works perfectly. I have had no success with the CDRW drive. I bet one will not work properly without a new OS.
