#1 is not a 'bug' I believe. In the new program, go to the Program menu and choose the PARAMs Menu. At the top, set PLAY:Poly instead of mono. This should solve your problem.
I just got my MPC 2500 yesterday. I had the same problem as #1 when slicing a sample. I checked the PARAMs menu and it was set on Poly not Mono. What was even crazier was that I put a sample in the program that was seperate from the sample that I chopped and even it got cut off when I played the chopped sample. However, I was able to fix the problem fairly easily by just moving all of the samples to a new program. It's like the default program created in chop shop mode causes this to happen.
Also, I wanted to ask you guys about the timing and swing. This is my first MPC, after years of using Reason, Ableton Live (which by the way are two amazing pieces of software), and an old Roland Groovebox. It seems like the swing is always on in the MPC. Is this true? I've done a search and read in other threads that the 50% means that it's off, but it doesn't sound like it. I mean the swing is kind of funky, and it will work for some of the stuff that I do, but I can't believe that you cannot quantize to straight time. I've tried the Time Correct before and after I've recorded, but I get the same results. It's like the MPC gives it its own rhythm. Am I doing something wrong? Is this similar to the timing issue that I've read about with the MPC 1000?
