I just got off the phone with tech support for my sound card. I'm new to the MTC, MPC thing. I've worked with Software for years so I have a pretty good understanding of the terminology used in audio recording.

The dude I got off the phone with told me some bull@#$ and I need ya'll to verify.

what he said was I'm better off using MIDI clock instead of MTC becuz MTC is slower than MC is this true?

also I noticed when I record using MC the MPC starts right away

when I use MTC there is a bit of a delay which prohibits me from selecting audio Data on the 1 is there anything I can do to fix this?

Or do I have to buy protools in order to use MTC

Its up to you but when you use MTC you should put a empty sequence in the beginning to allow catch up time for the syncing. This is a common problem. Try a 1 bar empty first, you shouldnt need more than 2 but 1 should do it.
