Autochromatic on MPC2500?

I'm still not 100% sure what the autochromatic feature does.

It chops up a single sample into a number of samples and automatically assigns them to the 64 pads?

not it does this................say you have a bass sample you got off a record........with A.C it spreads that sample in chromatic order( the piaon scale) so you can play it like it was a patch on a triton or somthing

how ....aswell how do I Do that with midi

I assume it keeps everything but the key of the sample the same? Like, the length of the sample, etc..


If so.. then I can see why y'all are so excited that its been included in the new OS. Instead of having to sample bass (for example) several times to have the right set...you just sample it once and autochromatic it.


Good stuff. Im gonna haveta try that when I get home tonite.

Ya I DL'e the new OS. Assigned the A.C. it works.........but now I have to figure out how the stop the note from sustaining after I release the keys(or Pads)
