2500's Sequence tightness

Between the MPC 2000, 2000XL, 2500, 3000, 3000LE, and the 4000.....the 4000 had the worst timing from my experience. I did use on of the earlier OS though..but I really wasn't feeling it as much as the other MPCs I used, which is the reason why I took a 'step backwards' and kept using the 3000LE and 2KXL.

It may sound like a sales pitch to you, but until you have worked with a 4000, you will remain in darkness for sure. Sales people (when it comes to mpcs) just roll out what they have read, heard from others and personal experiences. Testing one yourself is the best way.

If you do a good old search, you will find posts of users who have commented on the 4000's superlative timing over other mpcs.

The 2500 has the same timing as the 1000 when it's working correctly. When it's not it argueably has the worst timing of any mpc.

No, I have never used an MPC 60.

And the 2500 doesn't have any timing issues. I am guessing it is user error. MPCs are known for there timing. If the 2500 had horrible timing, I would mos def go back to an older model which now sell for half the price of a 2500.

curse has been broken i tried using grid edit and when my homie said drawing the drums in was better he wasnt lying. Only way i can get these things to sound crisp. BUT they definitely do add a bit of swing keep quantize off or on and they still bang. Still wondering why by hand they cant just be crisp maybe its just not my luck but hey the 2500 is definitely the most solid mpc ive ever used period. peace to everyone who repliead i appreciate the knowledge

So it wasn't the timing of the MPC, it was your timing issue, correct? Drawing the notes in, in grid edit doesn't make the drums sound any more "crisp" then recording the sequence live (when actually tapping it out with the pads).

Now James Brown...his sh!ts was crisp...

drawing em in is the only way i can make that shit sound tight if i just play em in even with quantize on the shit always shifts off. Ill stick to drawing em in from now on though g

It's not feedback, it's a suggestion. Don't take it personal, you said it yourself, "drawing em in is the only way i can make that **** sound tight if i just play em in even with quantize on the **** always shifts off." Why own an MPC, especially if you're not using the pads? These things are notorious for the physical feel of bangin the drum pattern and samples, not to mention the quality of the pads. If you won't sell your MPC, at least sell the pads, and make some money off of the features you're not using.

I really don't think it's a defect. What you gonna tell the guy in the store if you bring it back? Your MPC isn't tight enough? Let us know what he responded.
