Who LIKES the green screen??

Did you ever try a red screen?

never tried a red screen but I have tried some astronomy gear and the LCDs are always red ($10,000 GPS guided telescopes). The red is easiest on the eyes as far as fkn up your night vision. I like to work on beats in the dark too and that green screen gets to me. I personally like the screen color on the 2kXL best.

My XL screen is classic, but it tires me out sometimes. Im not so sure about blue either. things look cool in blue, but im not exactly blown away by my triton screen.

red could be pretty good! liking it

to me it is all about readability so i´m fine with the green screen and with the color scheme of the mpc in general. all markings are good to read even in dimm light conditions or on stage.
if a fancy blue screen was available and it was as good as the green in the dark i would swap it.

I hated the green at first, but I'm used to it and don't mind it now. A white screen would still be better, but whatever.

same here.. now if it of had a screen like the roland fantom than damn.. i would want the screen more than the mp.. but thats mainly the reason y we all bought it right?. to make music

I disagree with this. I think the look of gear is important. I think it important to set the mood in the studio. I think everything from the color of the LCD screen to the color of the walls are important. I didn't buy my moog voyager because of the badass blue backlit panel but it certainly is nice so I wouldn't say I don't give a ****. I think it can help spawn creativity.

Yea I see, that's right. I just figure it would be harder to read black on red background, and so more tiring on the eyes.

If there was one thing I could change about my 2500 it would be the screen color / brightness. That is just me though. I already have a piece of black tape over my WINDOW button coz it was just too damn bright. I haven't thought of an effective way to ghetto rig dim the screen yet.

Put something sheer over it. Or perhaps a lightly tinted visor, or plexiglass panel.

The 2000/2000XL screens burn out more than any other MPC. As long as I can get plenty of hours using the 2500 without the screen blowing out, I am fine with the color. Looking around my studio, several of my sound modules have green screens: XV5080, Motif ES-R, and the Proteus 2000. I guess Akai as trying to co-ordinate. I just wish the 2500 had mushroom side panels....

shift and turn the dial it will fad the writing but not the green screen...... I dont find the green screen so bad.....I m not listining with my eyes!
